Being Sanctioned by COTFA shows that you are willing to step your Colorado fiddle contest up to the standards that are considered customary at top notch fiddle contests. Sanctioning means your contest is an approved by COTFA .

Your contest will be associated with the state fiddle association in Colorado!

You will receive an in depth and thorough mailing list

Gain the support and expertise of experienced contest directors

Free and highlighted advertising of your contest on the COTFA website (click the link to see the page)

bulletWhat is required?

 

* Providing contestants with their score sheet, with comments from the judges, at the end of your contest.
* Posting rankings from all divisions with judges scores of each contestant included
* Providing as many age divisions as your budget will allow. List divisions on your application.
* Hiring Qualified Judges (this concept is still in the development stage.) You will be notified of stipulations as they are set
* At least one member of your contest  board must be a member of COTFA.
* Upon completion of your contest submit to COTFA:

a.      Names of all contestants in each division. 

b.      Names of all winners in each division.

c.      Prize money awarded each winner. 

 * Upon completion of your contest it  will be reviewed by the COTFA board. This review will determine if your contest will be re-sanction the next year. Any complaints will be recorded and considered when your contest re-applies for sanctioning.

 

bulletHow do we become sanctioned?

Submit your request by email to COTFA at least 3 months prior to your contest

Agree to the terms COTFA a set by signing an agreement

Submit the names of your judges

Provide COTFA with all information regarding your contest. (dates,schedule's and prize money)

Allow COTFA to have a presence at your contest in the form of a table/booth and a banner

Join COTFA as a member

 

It is easy to have your contest join the ranks as a SANCTIONED event!
